Tenuta di Castellaro, Bianco Porticello 2020

Flag of Italy

Tenuta di Castellaro calls the tiny, 2000 square metre island of Lipari, just off the coast of Sicily, home. Wanting to create a pure expression of the volcanic territory of Aeolian Islands, winemakers Massimo Lentsch and Stefania Frattolillo made their dream into a reality in 2005. Tenuta di Castellaro is now one of Lipari's most celebrated wineries. Porticello 2020 is made from a blend of 60% Carricante and 40% Muscat, and named for the beach small beach near the vineyard where the pumice quarry workers would have an after-work drink. Trained on bush-vines, the wine has a nose of blossom, sage, green apple, and lemon move to a bright palate with balanced acidity and a nice salty mineral finish. Like summertime in a glass; it's a great wine to pair with seafood.
